Which aspects of education do you think will be most useful to you in adult life.

Education, it is a journey whereby everybody would have to go through in our years of growing. Education starts as early as we are born, and as late as we are old. The most common types of education, which everybody will be familiar with, is the education in primary school, secondary school, and the next higher level of education.

In my point of view, I feel that every aspects of education would be useful to my adult life. It is like a jigsaw puzzle, with the little parts that I had gathered throughout my years of education, it will be formed together. Just like primary school, it is the place where we will have our foundation built, and reaching to a higher level, which is the secondary school. The foundation in primary school should be well built, so we can handle any situation is secondary school. And of course with the education in secondary school, it will then bring us to a higher level of education.

As we can also see, the types of jobs that we will be working as in our adult life, depends on the education that we had. Every aspects of education will definitely be useful in our adult life, if not, we do now have to worry about our results that we had gotten in school, and the diploma that we will be getting.


Other than the education that we received within the four walls, moral education is also very important. The way we get along with people and the way we handle problems and situation, will have a different perspective from people. So what we do well in our studies, but that does not mean we can be a great person.
So, I feel that every aspects of education will be every useful in our adult life, may it be in the classrooms, or outside the classrooms

Singapore is known as food paradise, and although Singapore is a small country, we can always find food around Singapore. It can range from a cheaper variety at the hawker center, or the night market. The more expensive food can be found in restaurants. With so many choices for good food, who can resist the temptation?

One of the dishes that I love the most is the chilli crab. It can be found in hawker centers, or restaurants. Chilli crabs are usually eaten with rice, sometimes with bread or Chinese buns if we want to. With that gravy made from fresh red chillies, tomato sauce, fresh eggs and spring onions, who can stop eating at any moment? Chilli crabs are usually eaten using our hand, don’t bother to use our teeth to crack the shell, just suck out the succulent meat, and if there’s a need to, hit the extra hard shell on the table or use a shell cracker to crack the shell!

Other than chilli crabs, there are also other crabs that are popular in Singapore. Like the black pepper crab, steamed crab they are equally delicious and popular among us. Some of the special crabs that had been recommended on the menu are the butter crab, and the cold crab. What are so special about this two? The butter crab have a very strong butter smell, when you first taste it, you may not seemed to like it because of the strong taste and smell, but as you eat more, you will start to love the taste of butter crab! And for the cold crab, it is actually a steamed crab but they would place it into a fridge and make the meat of the crab to be cold. It taste equally good as any other crabs!

Not only I love chilli crabs, I guess there will be a lot of people out there who loves chilli crabs too. Thumbs up for chilli crabs! =DDDDD

I remember on the first day of school, i was very afraid because i had stepped into a totally new environment: faces of the students, the teachers were all different. I had stepped into Kent Ridge Secondary School, the school which was going to have many memories for me. the buildings and facilities of the school were very new, as the school had only started on year 2000.

I was nervous and afraid as we had to stand up and introduce ourselves to the class and teachers. we had to say our names, our personal details, like,our hobbies, our favourite subjects. I never like doing this and until now i still dislike doing it. I am unsure of why i dislike it, so whenever it is my turn to introduce myself, i would just keep it short, sweet and simple.

Most of my primary school friends were not in the same secondary school as me, because Kent Ridge secondary schoolis a further school away from my house, compared to the neighbouring schools. This meant that i had to start making friends again, because we were all not aware of each other's character. This made it more difficult to make friends, or to start a conversation with them. And also, we were all too shy to approach each other. Because of this, there was neither laughter nor chit-chatting going on in the class, so the classroom was definitely quiet and we just followed the teachers' instructions. No matter if we understood those instructions or not, or if those instructions even made any sense, we just followed blindly without question.

We were brought by some student councillors of the school to walk around the school. It was to allow us to have a better understanding of the school, also to prevent us from getting lost. They also arranged for us to play some ice-breaker games with our classmates to develop a bonding, and also to help us realise the potential within us, while playing games that involved thinking and team-work.

Hello Mrs.Yeo,

How are you? It has been more than half a year since you are not in Kent Ridge. We miss you a lot! Hope you are feeling better and come back to school ok? Year 2007 is very different from year 2008. School life has changed a lot too. The building of the school are repainted too, the reporting time to school on Thursday was later. Although these two events may seem helpful to us, it also has a negative side.

Firstly, repainting of the school may be a good thing because it changes the look of the buildings, and it will look new again. But, the colors were not as nice as the past. Now the colors consist of, red, orange, brown. It looks more like a primary school rather than a secondary school. In my opinion, I would still choose the previous colors.

And also, this year, construction work has been going on in the school. Sometimes, it can be very noisy. It might distract some of the students. And because the school is undergoing painting, some parts of the school had to be blocked. This disallowed us to walk, especially the staircase to out level, we had to walk by another way, which can be troublesome.

Secondly, we were allowed to report to school by 8.30am every Thursday. This is because every Thursday morning, teachers will have their meeting in school. Reporting by 8.30am have its pros and cons. Good point is, if the student is staying at a further place, from the school, there would be a longer time for them to prepare for school. It would not be such a rush for them.

But, the bad point is, some pupils may take this chance to sleep longer, or take their own time to go to school. So, allowing them to be late for school. And also, the bus would be very packed because everybody is on their way to work. The road would also be jammed due to all the vehicles traveling on the road at the same time. This also would cause the students to be late for school.
